TB4Health is a test bed in the National Testbeds Network, a program funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), which aims to support start-ups and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) developing and testing of new products and\/or services with a strong digital component in the health sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

TB4Health is a consortium composed of Biocant Park, three hospitals, namely the Local Health Unit (LHU) of Coimbra, LHU Santa Maria and Lus\u00edadas, as well as two companies from the health sector and medical device certification, Medtronic and Complear, respectively. In addition to the co-promoters, TB4Health has a partnership with the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) – DigiHealthPT, led by Health Cluster Portugal (HCP).<\/p>\n

The aim of this network is to accelerate and facilitate the arrival on the market of new technological and digital solutions in the health sector, by providing access to infrastructure and equipment, as well as specialized human resources, to carry out pilots and validate products and\/or services. TB4Health will support 60 pilot products reaching the market with a minimum TRL of 5 by the end of September 2025.<\/p>\n

The services provided by TB4Health include clinical, diagnostic and treatment services, as well as access to databases at scale, regulatory support, including the protection of personal data, not only in the context of pilot tests, but especially with a view to placing products or services derived from them on the market.<\/p>\n

Benefits for companies<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Eligible start-ups and SMEs can benefit from financial support as a discount on the market price for the services contracted. The services make it possible to develop, test and validate new digital products or services in a real environment.<\/li>\n
  2. Access to test infrastructures, technological capacity and complementary services that will enable the TRL level to evolve, enabling the product’s innovation cycle to be closed and its early entry onto the market at reduced costs.<\/li>\n
  3. Access to innovative services that are uncommon in today’s market.<\/li>\n
  4. Pilot management and monitoring service after signing the membership contract.<\/li>\n
  5. Matchmaking with service providers.<\/li>\n
  6. Initial and final product evaluation report.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Financial support<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Companies that join TB4Health will be able to benefit from support in the form of a discount on the market value of up to \u20ac40,000 per pilot. The value of the discount will be supported through funding for the National Network of Test Beds.<\/p>\n

    The TB4Health application process involves several stages:<\/p>\n

    1. Application by filling in the membership form.<\/li>\n
    2. Scheduling a preliminary meeting and assessing eligibility.<\/li>\n
    3. Signature of the membership agreement.<\/li>\n
    4. Preparation of the initial assessment report.<\/li>\n
    5. Matchmaking with service providers: definition of services, milestones and timetable.<\/li>\n
    6. Signing of service contracts.<\/li>\n
    7. Development of the pilots.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
